About Alan
Alan Smith is the Pastor of Freedom Ministries at Gateway Church and is passionate about helping others become the people God created and redeemed them to be. Whether teaching a Freedom Ministry class, ministering to individuals, teaching at Kairos, or training others to minister freedom, he loves to see people experience the healing and deliverance only Jesus can give! He previously served as Associate Pastor for Gateway Equip, the adult discipleship program at Gateway and has spent the last four years overseeing Gateway’s prophetic ministry for emerging leaders.
Alan has been married to Nancy for 16 years and they have 3 beautiful children. He has been blessed to serve in ministry in a variety of roles including, youth pastor, worship pastor, and senior pastor, with the consistent thread always being a passion to help others experience God’s presence and voice. He enjoys traveling to minister in churches, training schools, and conferences. Alan has been pursuing God’s call since he was 14 and is a graduate of Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas.
Saved: In 1976, my mom prayed with me to accept Jesus as my Savior in our kitchen at home.

Previous Lines of Work: Served as a youth pastor, worship leader and pastor. Also worked in accounting, sales and as a project manager.

One of My Greatest Experiences with God: There was a dramatic outpouring of the Holy Spirit during a class I attended taught by Dutch Sheets at CFNI in 1989. It wrecked me pretty good.
